New Divisions. New Prizes. New Opportunities.
Are you a young singer or singer-songwriter who lives, works or plays on the Central Coast? Do you want to develop your skills, connect with the music industry and show off your talents for the chance to win amazing prizes including recording studio time?

Returning in 2025, Discovered is open to young people aged 7 to 24 years and provides professional development and performance opportunities, as well as an exciting competition component where you can compete to win part of an impressive prize pool valued over $11,000. This year Discovered introduces a new Divisions to include Kids: 7-12 years, Teens: 13-17 years, Youth: 18-24 years and the eMergent Sounds Division, an exciting new category for singer-songwriters performing original work, with the chance to have their song pressed to vinyl.

The Discovered program is supported by an incredible network of Professional development Partners including Gina Jeffreys Academy of Music, Damien Gerard Studios, Maheraw Vocal Coaching, The Skill Engineers, Musicians Making a Difference (MMAD), JC Entertainment and Central Coast Music & Arts. From scholarships to studio time, mentoring to merchandise, Discovered offers genuine professional development and performance opportunities to help young artists thrive.

With two places open in the semi-finals and two places in the grand final event, you can nominate your favourite performer for a place with the online WILDCARD vote. 
 
Round one: online voting opens following the third heat from 12pm on Monday 27 June 2022 to 11.59PM on Sunday 3 July 2022.
 
Round two: online voting opens following the semi-finals from 12pm on Monday 15 August to 11.59PM on Sunday 21 August 2022.

Performing original work?

EMERGENT SOUNDS DIVISION 2025

Competition Entrants who are performing original work have the option to enter the eMergent Sounds Division to be in running to win the eMergent Sounds prize and have your song pressed to vinyl.

Here's how it works:

Submit and Perform
Enter the eMergent Sounds Division. Upload original songs and perform live during the Competition.

Judged' Playlist Picks
Judges will choose a shortlist to feature on an official eMergent Sounds online playlist.

Winners Chosen
Judges select one winner from each Competition - one from Discovered and one from Battle of the Bands. Awarded at the Creative Engineers Showcase.

Public Voting
After the Creative Engineers Showcase, the playlist goes live for public voting. Anyone can listen and vote for their favourite tracks.

Limited- Edition Vinyl Album Release
The eMergent Sounds first place recipients (Discovered and Battle of the Bands) and eight (8) top-voted songs will be pressed onto vinyl and released as a limited-edition album during Youth Week 2026.

SEMI FINALS

24 participants will make it into the two semi-finals, live at The Hub Erina on 12 and 26 March 2021.Two semi-finalists will be voted in by our online audience in Round One of the Wildcard Audience Vote.

GRAND FINAL

12 finalists will be selected to perform at The Hub Erina on Friday 23 April 2021 in the Discovered Grand Final. Two finalists will be voted in by our online audience in Round Two of the Wildcard Audience Vote.
