Looking for ways to engage more youth in your business?

Thinking Out Loud Youth Forum Event

Young people it’s time to raise your voice with ‘Thinking Out Loud’ Youth Forum returning bigger and better than ever in 2023!

Registrations are now open for this exciting and innovative forum which will be hosted by Central Coast Council’s Youth for Youth (Y4Y) Action Team.

This year the theme of the forum is “Including Us” and Council is calling on young people aged between 12 and 24, businesses, organisations, shopping centre management and event organisers to come together and contribute to important discussions on how to best include, involve, and engage young people in community life, events and initiatives.

What does the day look like?

Morning presentations

Presentations from guest speakers who will highlight ways to better include young people in community life, events and initiatives.

Speakers will include Jahin Tanvir a 2022 Young Australian of the year finalist, Founder of Breathe and Board Director at the Adolescent Health Association of Australia, and Brad Cardis, Owner of Fixx Events and Marketing.

With two places open in the semi-finals and two places in the grand final event, you can nominate your favourite performer for a place with the online WILDCARD vote. 
 
Round one: online voting opens following the third heat from 12pm on Monday 27 June 2022 to 11.59PM on Sunday 3 July 2022.
 
Round two: online voting opens following the semi-finals from 12pm on Monday 15 August to 11.59PM on Sunday 21 August 2022.

Christmas Window Display Competition

Businesses located in Gosford, Wyong, The Entrance and Toukley are getting into the festive spirit with a Christmas Window display Competition.

One display in each town centre with the highest number of votes and one voter in each town centre win a $250 voucher each.

Jahin is the Founder of Breathe, a 2022 Young Australian of the Year finalist, a 2021 Young Canberra Citizen of the Year in Individual Community Service, a Board Director at the Adolescent Health Association of Australia, a UNICEF Young Ambassador and a Movember Ambassador.

Brad Cardis

Owner of Fixx Events a Central Coast based business that has been involved in the market event, music, festival and place making industry for over 25 years. Fixx events own and operate multiple award-winning monthly Avoca Beachside Markets and Colourbomb Decor Event Theming Services.

SEMI FINALS

24 participants will make it into the two semi-finals, live at The Hub Erina on 12 and 26 March 2021.Two semi-finalists will be voted in by our online audience in Round One of the Wildcard Audience Vote.

  • Round One WILDCARD Audience Voting - Open 22 February – 28 February

 

GRAND FINAL

12 finalists will be selected to perform at The Hub Erina on Friday 23 April 2021 in the Discovered Grand Final. Two finalists will be voted in by our online audience in Round Two of the Wildcard Audience Vote.
